2011 US Open Golf Tournament on ESPN


United States Open Championship, commonly known as the U.S. Open, is the annual open golf tournament of the United States. It is the second of the four major championships in golf and is on the official schedule of both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. 2011 United States Open Championship, the 111th U.S. Open, will begin on June 16 and end on June 19.


2011 will be the third time the U.S. Open will have been played at Congressional Country Club. The last time was in 1997 when Ernie Els won his second major championship, finishing at −4, a stroke clear of Colin Montgomerie. Absent Tiger Woods, the field will ready itself for battle with a 7,300-yard golfing behemoth that, incidentally, doubled as a military training ground during WWII.The players who have qualified for the 2011 U.S. Open are listed below. Each player is classified according to the first category in which he qualified, but other categories are shown in parentheses.
