Mahindra Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium
Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium is a new cricket stadium in Hambantota, Sri Lanka. It was built for the 2011 Cricket World Cup and will host two matches, the first being Sri Lanka against West Indies, on 9 December 2010. The stadium will have a capacity of 35,000 people.
The first one day of this ground was played in December 9, 2010 between Sri Lanka and West indies. The stadium was actually set up for 2011 world cup.
The first official international match would be between Sri Lanka and Canada on 20 February, 2011. A total of two matches will be played at the venue during the World Cup.
