Carl Edwards wins All-Star Race

Carl Edwards claimed the $1 million Saturday night with a perfect run in the Sprint All-Star Race. Edwards won three of the four segments in the 100-lap race, but still had one last pit stop and a 10-lap sprint to the finish before he could claim his first All-Star victory. Edwards finished second, followed by Busch, Kasey Kahne and Stewart.

“That’s a million dollars. We just won a million dollars, I feel so bad about tearing up the car. But I’m sure Bob’s got a better one” said Carl Edwards. Greg Biffle was fifth, Matt Kenseth was sixth and RFR teammate David Ragan was eighth to put all four of the team’s car inside the top eight. Ragan won the Sprint Showdown qualifier earlier Saturday to earn his spot in the field.

“I want to thank not only my fans but all the fans who voted,” Earnhardt said. “I knew my fans were working really hard.”

Carl Michael Edwards, II is an American NASCAR Sprint Cup Series and Nationwide Series driver for Roush Fenway Racing. In the Sprint Cup Series, Edwards drives the #99 Aflac/Subway/Scotts/Miracle-Gro/Kellogg's Ford Fusion and the #60 Fastenal Ford Mustang in the Nationwide Series.

2011 Preakness Stakes Preview

2011 Preakness Stakes is the 136th running of the Preakness Stakes. The race will take place on May 21, 2011, and will be televised in the United States on the NBC television network. The post time is 6:18 p.m. EDT (10:18 p.m. UTC)

A full field of 14 was drawn for the race. Predating the Kentucky Derby by two years, the Preakness Stakes was first run in 1873. It got its name from then Maryland Governor Oden Bowie, who dubbed it ‘The Preakness’ in honor of a horse of the same name that won the Dinner Party Stakes on the opening day of the Pimlico track in 1870.

Pimlico Race Course will be offering special ‘Sunrise At Old Hilltop” tours all week long beginning on Wednesday. Also on Wednesday, the starting positions for the race will be set at the Post Position Draw. The Preakness is limited to 14 starters and there’s a good chance for a full field this year—14 of the last 18 races have had a double digit sized field.

Osama bin Laden dead - Osama bin Laden killed by US forces in Pakistan

Osama bin Mohammed bin Awad bin Laden was a member of the wealthy Saudi bin Laden family and the founder of the jihadist terrorist organization al-Qaeda, responsible for the September 11 attacks on the United States and numerous other mass-casualty attacks against civilian and military targets.

Osama bin Laden was killed on Sunday in a firefight with U.S. forces in Pakistan, ending a years-long hunt for the mastermind of the 2001 attacks on New York and Washington.U.S. President Barack Obama declared that "justice has been done" as he disclosed that American military and C.I.A. operatives had finally cornered the Al Qaeda leader who had eluded them for nearly a decade and shot him to death at a compound in Pakistan.

Obama said he gave the order for the operation after receiving intelligence information that he did not further describe. After years of rumors that the world's most-wanted man was hiding in the caves and rugged redoubts of the Pakistan- Afghanistan border region, the CIA ultimately found him hiding in what officials described as a comfortable mansion surrounded by a high wall in a small town near Islamabad, Pakistan's capital.
