Daddy’s Home 2 Comedy Film In Theaters

Daddy's Home 2 is a 2017 American Christmas comedy film directed by Sean Anders and written by Anders and John Morris. It stars Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Linda Cardellini, John Cena, John Lithgow, and Mel Gibson. It is a sequel to Daddy's Home (2015). Unlike its predecessor, this film will not feature the involvement of Red Granite Pictures. Daddy’s Home 2.

It’s the sequel to Daddy’s Home, a modern family comedy beloved by Sofia Coppola and quietly seen by millions at the end of 2015 when everyone was paying attention to a Star Wars movie. In the sequel, whose premise is almost identical to Bad Moms sequel A Bad Moms Christmas, the Daddy versus Daddy action is compounded by the addition of two more Daddies. Brad’s father, Don (John Lithgow), is even more of a well-meaning wuss than his son.

He greets Brad at the airport with a big wet kiss on the lips, and Lithgow, with that voice halfway between a whine and a purr, makes him an over-enthusiastic huggy doofus purged of aggression. “Daddy’s Home” alliance between cool-bro dad Dusty (Mark Wahlberg) and winsome wimp stepdad Brad (Will Ferrell), a little discontent must fall. Here it arrives in the persons of granddads. Dusty’s pop is alpha-male ex-astronaut Kurt, played by Mel Gibson.

Daddy’s Home 2 is aimed at the most amnesiac, uncritical segment of our population, for whom it would never occur to connect the dots between Gibson’s documented anti-Semitism and abuse of women and his character’s objectification of them here, nor scenes of children wielding firearms with recent/perpetual gun violence.
