32nd London Marathon will take place today as the world’s elite athletes
tread the now familiar path around the streets of England’s capital
city.

The Elite Women's race will start proceedings at 9:00am, with the Wheelchair Race starting at 9:20am.
The rest of the field, headed by the Elite Men, will head off at 9:45am. The runners will set off from their traditional starting point at Greenwich Park, the gateways of which have become synonymous with the start of the race. The men’s race, set to go off at 9:45am, has the two fastest marathon runners of all time in Patrick Makau and Wilson Kipsang, as well as the defending champion Emmanuel Mutai who won in a new course record last year.
The coverage begins at 8:30am on BBC One and BBC One HD.
